Apple has rolled out a significant update to its Apple Music Classical app, enhancing the listening experience for classical music enthusiasts, reported 9To5Mac.
The version 2.2 update, now available on the App Store, introduces three key features designed to deepen engagement with classical works: time-synced listening guides, curated stations, and personalised recommendations, the publication stated.
One of the standout additions is the introduction of time-synced listening guides for over 150 renowned classical compositions. These guides offer contextual insights and commentary on the music as it plays, allowing listeners to gain a deeper understanding of the nuances and historical significance of each piece. Where available, the traditional Information button in the lower-left corner of the playback screen has been replaced with a new icon resembling a book of musical notes. Tapping this icon will reveal the listening guide, providing real-time written explanations alongside the audio.
Curated Stations
Another welcome improvement is the addition of curated stations, similar to those found in the standard Apple Music app. These stations allow users to enjoy a continuous stream of classical music without the need to manually select albums or playlists. By offering an effortless listening experience, this feature ensures that music lovers can immerse themselves in the genre without interruption.
Tailored Recommendations
Personalised recommendations have also been introduced to the Home tab, helping users discover new pieces based on their listening habits. This feature aims to make exploration more intuitive by suggesting works that align with individual preferences, thereby broadening listeners’ appreciation of classical compositions.
A Growing Platform for Classical Music Fans
Apple Music Classical, which is included as part of any Apple Music subscription, continues to position itself as a premier platform for classical music streaming. With these latest enhancements, Apple is further refining its offering, making it easier for users to enjoy and understand the rich legacy of classical music.
The update is now available to download from the App Store.
