At least 37 people have died and dozens were injured after a crash involving two buses in Bolivia.
The incident took place in the western Potosi region, police and local authorities said on Saturday.
It happened during the early hours of Saturday morning on the roads between the cities of Uyuni and Colchani.
One bus was said to have swerved into the oncoming lane.
“As a result of this fatal accident, we have 39 people injured in four hospitals in the town of Uyuni, and 37 people have lost their lives,” a spokesperson for the Departmental Police Command of Potosi told reporters.

One of the buses was heading to Oruro, where one of the most important carnival celebrations in Latin America is currently taking place.
The crash follows an incident last month when 31 people died when a bus plunged 800m (2,600ft) off a mountainous road.
