2024-25 NBA MVP odds: Nikola Jokic favored; SGA, Giannis giving chasenews24

The NBA season is cooking, which means it’s time to dive into the regular-season MVP market.

As the winner of the NBA’s most coveted award in three of the last four seasons, Nikola Jokic will look to make history by winning four out of five.

Celtics legend Bill Russell won four out of five from 1960-61 to 1964-65, and LeBron James did the same between 2008-09 and 2012-13.

Those are the only two names to accomplish the feat in league history.

Jokic opened the season at +400 to win the award, and through a few weeks, he is top-three in the league in points, rebounds and assists.

Let’s take a look at the NBA MVP odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Dec. 23.

2024-25 NBA MVP odds:

Nikola Jokic: +110 (bet $10 to win $21 total)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: +240 (bet $10 to win $34 total)
Giannis Antetokounmpo: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)
Luka Doncic: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)
Jayson Tatum: +1200 (bet $10 to win $140 total)

Welp, Jokic is back to his old ways again.

As of Dec. 23, he’s averaging 30.9 points (second), 13 rebounds (third) and 9.8 assists (second), while shooting 56.3% from the field and 50.5% from beyond the arc. He’s also shooting 79.6% from the line.

However, his odds lengthened a bit over the past week, as SGA and Antetokounmpo both saw their odds get shorter.

The Thunder are 22-5 on the year (second-best record in the NBA), and Gilgeous-Alexander is fourth in the league in points per game (30.3) and third in steals (2).

Meanwhile, Antetokounmpo leads the league in points per game (32.5), is sixth in rebounds per game (11.6), and his Bucks have won 14 of their last 18, including winning the second annual NBA Cup.
